A 78-year-old Kentucky man faces two charges of attempted murder after allegedly running his 82-year-old brother and 83-year-old sister off a road in Rockcastle County on Monday.
The elder siblings were driving south on Interstate 75 Monday morning when Clyde White began chasing the van at speeds of more than 100 mph, an off-duty officer told WKYT 27.
White allegedly hit the vehicle several times with his car before the blue van in which Lawrence White and Dorothy Whitaker traveling went off the road and ran into a Direct TV van parked on the shoulder, The Lexington Herald-Leader reports online.
The siblings sustained severe injuries and were taken to a University of Kentucky Hospital, The Associated Press reports.
White reportedly fled the crash site before clipping a semi-truck down the road, according to WKYT 27. The driver of the Direct TV van was not injured.
White was taken into the Rockcastle County Detention Center, where he was held on $500,000 bond. His court date is set for Aug. 31.
