Ryan Nunes Showed Up Drunk At Public Intoxication Hearing, Cops Say

If justice is blind, it can still smell this guy's breath.

Modesto, Calif. police released a mugshot late last week of a man suspected of showing up drunk at his public intoxication hearing.

Ryan Michael Nunes, 36, couldn't even make it through security at the courthouse on Wednesday because he was loaded, cops told CBS 13.

"He wasn't able to walk and his speech was very slurred," Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy Raj Singh said. "He did make an effort to show up to the courthouse to attend his court hearing."

Indeed, Nunes didn't want a warrant out for his arrest, so he went to his hearing. It was one of at least a dozen public intoxication charges he's faced in the past, according to The Modesto Bee.

Nunes allegedly refused to leave when cops told him to sober up because he wanted to make his court date. So he was arrested -- again -- and accused of public intoxication. He's scheduled to be back in court in the coming weeks.

this is a shinning example of whats wrong with our judicial system......It is obvious this man needs help look at his record. but instead of helping some one they throw more charges and fines at them until there is no escape and that follows you around for the rest of your life

Obviously this character is an alcholic. And should he desire help, it is there with AAA. Short of that, in his defense. Alchohol is about the worst drug that is out there except for maybe tobacco. I fail to see why in the year 2012 why smoking weed is still illegal, short of government loosing tax revenue as people could grow it in there back yard. Would also reckon that beer and liquor lobby would argue against this as well. Haven't smoked the ganja since 1987 so it does not honestly matter to me. as note @420,000 people die from cigarettes in USA/year.

I once went to the CDC website to see the stats on deaths per year, per cause. Some interesting stuff there. Like many Americans dont know or fail to relize that obesity kills more each year than smoking. Not defending smoking in anyway other than that second hand smoke bs. But you are right about smokes tho. It is the worst addicting known drug out there. And should be on a drug class spec as herion and cocain. Ive know people who beat both addictions. But couldnt smokes. But its population control, Just like mcdonalds is

California and the rest of the blue states pay for the federal subsidies that allow the bankrupt red states to survive. This is because California and New York and the other blue states are not run by a bunch of mouth-breathing idiots that think Reagan was a good President.

Those who do not suffer from alcoholism can only imagine the pitiful and incomprehensible demoralization that comes when you can no longer imagine your life with or with out alcohol. From being terrified to die and at the same time wishing for nothing else.
This man needs help.

Alcoholics don't drink because they want to drink. They drink because they HAVE to drink. You might find Al-Anon helpful as they teach families about the disease. Not that it's ever easy to live with an alcoholic but you'll certainly understand the disease better than you do now. Nobody chooses to be an alcoholic.
