He sure didn't escape by the skin of his teeth.

Last June, Stephen Evans stayed two days at a guest house in the Welsh resort town of Llandudno, the Daily Mail reported, but then skipped out without paying the bill.

Since the 29-year-old had used a false name and address, the hotel proprietors would have had no way to catch him, had he not left his DNA-covered toothbrush behind.

Police used the DNA evidence to identify Evans, who is a LLandudno resident, according to the BBC.

Evans recently admitted in court that he did not pay the £64 bill. He was ordered to pay the £120 to the guest house owner in costs and compensation, and is also prohibited from going out between the hours of 8 pm and 8 am for the next four months.

DNA testing succeeded in nabbing this bill-dodger, but can it find Bigfoot? In May, scientists in Switzerland and the UK teamed up to analyze organic remains that some people believe belong to the legendary creature.

How did they have his 'baseline DNA' to compare to? Major point missed in the story. Also, keep in mind that if they are willing to use a $400 DNA test to test the toothbrush, and the police manpower to compare DNA on brush to baseline DNA, then they spent about $2000 total (plus police time) to nab the 'con artist' on a $100 motel skip. Welcome to big brother efficient bureaucracy at work.

The british socialist healthcare system means they also have all patients DNA on file, exactly like the American Military Medical and Veterans Affairs Medical systems, the only socialist healthcare system in the US.

Should have stated in earlier response that all UK citizens are members of their Health care system and all DNA profiles are catalogued exactly as the US fingerprint database. All US military service members and veterans are in a similar system. Also notable to mention this model is also a component of American Obamacare and will be implemented in the US for all US citizens in 2014.

And in other, related news, a Republican millionaire, David Siegel, told his employees that there would be firings if 'there are any new taxes on me or my company' (a letter and declaration that was confirmed with Siegel by AP).
Now why would a political supporter be against Big Brother tracking, and also against freedom of political choice? Such a paradox. Or hypocrisy. Or plain mean-spirited partisanship.
